Opening day for Tautog

Sunday April 1^st.  Is the opening day for Tautog with a 4 fish limit at 15 inches.  With the warmer weather we are having the bite should be HOT both on the local wrecks and reefs.  The popular spots you can get to from land should also be holding a couple of fish.  The fish in the picture caught and realest by Jeffrey wile striper fishing with clam last week.

Get out the crab pots

Crabbing is beginning to heat up.  With the warm water temps the critter are crawling and eating.  The crabs did not hibernate for a long period this year so they will have a good amount of meet on them.  With some of the nice whether we have coming up get the kids together and hit your favorite crabbing hole befor others get out there.

Girls weekend in S.I.C.

March  23 – 24 – 25 is Girls weekend hear in Sea Isle City.  So ladies leave the kiddies with the husband lode up the car and head down for all the activities and specials for the Girls weekend.  But be for you leave be shore to stop Sea Isle Bait and Tackle and get the ( Old Man ) a Thanks for the weekend gift maybe a new rod or reel we also have gift cards so he can pick out his thanks for the weekend Off gift. The blues are back in town….

Just had the first blue of the year weigh in 6lb 6oz.  The fish was taken in Corson’s inlet mid morning and mid tide.  It took blood worms.  If there is one there are more !!!!!!

Starting Saturday March 17 2012 we will be resuming a full time schedule.  We will be open 6am-6pm every day but Wednesday.  We will have fresh clams, live bloodworms and all the frozen bait you need and bait selection will be growing as the season progresses.  We have been very busy over the winter with special orders.  If you need something for the upcoming flounder or offshore season, order now.  We can put together a package for you with all the gulp! Flouro, spro bucktails or green machines you need for the year in one package at a discounted rate.  This is the time to let us know and to be sure you get it in time.

2012 NJ flounder and sea bass regulations

Great new every one.  The new N.J  Flounder and Sea Bass Regs have been set for 2012.  The new Flounder regs are 17.5 In 5 fish bag limit this is 3 less fish but ½ in shorter.  The season will be from May 5 to September 28.  That is 5 More days then last year.  As for Sea Bass it will still be 12.5 In and a 25 fish bag limit.  The season will run from May 19 thru October 19 then from November 1 thru December 31.  This is 42 more days from last year.
