Big COD trip.  The Starfish hear in Sea Isle City will be running a 12hour Cod and Ling trip with former longtime Captain of the CR, Captain Mike Weigle at the helm on Saturday January 21^st.  Leaving the dock at 5 A.M.  The fee is $100. per person.  They will only tacking 30 people so it is strongly in recommended to make your reservations NOW.  They can be reached at (609) 263 – 3800.  The tackle shop with be open at 4am for all of the supplies you may need.  If there is something special that you need or just want to check inventory pleas contact us.

Late season stripers

Mike and Shannon of Bristle PA landed this nice stripper on a short after noon fishing trip hear in Sea Isle City.  Believe it of not this fish was taken on frozen bunker.  With the whether as nice as this how can you beet a day sitting on the beach and hoping for a striper.  Or even hitching a ride with the local party boat the Starfish they have been SLAMING Big tog.  The whether looks like it should be nice over the week end, than a cold front for the beginning of the week but if thing stay the way they look we may be in for another Nice week end next week.

Hot and Heavy tog bite

Over the short Holliday weekend I actually made it out fishing.  We started at the OC reef for an AWSOM tog bite the first hour was a little slow until we got positioned over the wreck just rite and got them biting then it was a non stop fast and furious bite.  It was less than 45 minutes until the 3 of us had a limit of tog up to 8lb.  We then headed back down south to the Sea Isle lump where several friends had a descent striper bite that morning we trolled for about an hour plenty of bait and fish marks on the fish finder but no knock downs.  The reports we are getting say the bite at the SI lump is in the AM

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas every body.  Just a quick update on what is happening hear at the tackle shop.  The fishing has been consistent with stripper being taken on the beach with clams both fresh and salted.  Most of the fish are ranging from 25-35 inches.  The tog fishing has been very good on the local wrecks and reefs.  On private boats and the Starfish the local party boat.

We will be closed for Christmas on the 24^th and the 25^th re opening Monday the 26^th .  We are open every day but Wednesdays WETHER PERMITTING.

Stripers still out there

Hay every one just wanted to give you a quick up date on what is going on around hear in Sea Isle City.  There have been a some of stripers and blues being taken on the beach and the ocean the fish on the beach are biting clams and bunker (if you can get it) the season for catching bunker is closed so its getting difficult to get it.  In the ocean there is a lot of looking around to fid fish but there where some taken this week end trolling and jigging mostly soft plastic’s and jig’s. 

2012 NJ Hunting and Fishing Licenses now available.  Gift certificates for a license is a great charismas gift. 

Striper Report

Today we heard of some reports off the surf of a couple of nice stripers being caught on clam and lures.  The Delaware bay was seeing some action on live eels.  We heard of a couple reports from the lump, most people were jigging or using finesses fish.  There was a mixed bag caught out there of blues, striper and tog.  Tomorrow looks to be a nice day too, hope to see you in the shop.
