Two real nice stripers

Duane from Philadelphia PA just stopped by with two real nice stripers he took from the surf.  He sad the key to his success was fishing the last part of the out going tide, low tied and the beginning of the incoming.  Both of these fish and the throw backs he had where all taken on clam.

The King fish are in!!!!  We have gotten some great reports of king fish..  The absolutely bets bait now is blood worms and we have some Huge blood worms.  There have also been some very nice stripers taken on the blood worms.  Stripers have also been taking clams but the blood worms have been the hot secret ticket. 

Del Vall Surf Tournament

Perry of Dennisvill landed this nice striper 24.9 Lb. 40 In.  It was taken in townsends inlet.  There have also been some reports of king fish in the surf.  If you are looking for something to do this weekend the Delaware Valley Surf Anglers Association will be holding there 30th Annual Karl J. Boehret Surf Fishing Tournament in Sea Isle City, NJ on May 12, 2012. The event will be a team and individual tournament. Team (6 fisherpersons) registration is $50.00. Individual registration is $10.00.  Registration - SIC Community Lodge 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM.  First Fishing Position 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM Second Fishing Position 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM FREE LUNCH, Awards, Door Prizes 1:00 PM.  More INFO at  www.delvalsurfanglers.org .  I hope you will join this longstanding tradition and good luck.  We will be open at 5am with plenty of live clams and blood worms

Double sided brown flounder !!!!!!!

Check this out! While fishing in the opening day flounder tournament Joe Cunningham caught this double sided brown flounder.  Unfortunately it was short and had to be thrown back.  Take a look!

Great opener to the flounder season !!!

Wow what a great opener to the flounder season! Even with the full moon, fog, patchy showers, big tide and wind people were still able to get in to some nice fish.  We weighed in a bunch of fish in the 3-4 lb range. The BIG winner of the opening day flounder tournament was David Rothmel with a 5.Lb  2.Oz flounder.  The grand prize this year was $1,515.00.  Second place was Rodney with a 4. Lb 12. Oz flounder winning himself a nice Shimano rod and reel set up and a $50 gift card to the store.  Third place was Anthony with a 4. Lb flatty and he received a Shimano Penn combo and a $25 gift card to the store for his efforts.  All three of the top qualifiers also won a year long subscription to On The Water Magazine.  Thanks for the great turn out and next year will be even bigger.
