First I want to say thanks to the Delaware Valley Surf Anglers Association and the A.S.A.C. for putting on the great surf tournament here in Sea Isle City over the weekend. The reports from the tournament were good, with several striper caught. There was a nice black drum and a bunch of kingfish taken also.
There were also several nice stripers taken in Townsend’s Inlet on fresh clams with a couple of blues mixed in taken on mullet. The flounder fishing in the back bay was still a little slow this week, the nicer fish seem to be coming from shallower water 4-10 feet on really light bucktails tipped with minnows or gulp. The stripers are still biting well on clams in the back and several people have even tried throwing poppers in the evening with some good success.
