Big Tautog

Captain John Pratt formerly of Ursula fishing and diving charters in Sea Isle City was fishing with a couple of friends aboard the “Ike and Dee” over the weekend when he hooked in to this monster Tautog.  It tipped the scales at 12 lb 13 oz.  You may be asking well did it bite on a green crab? white leg? fiddler?  japanes?  NO salted clam. While crabs are the preferred bait for toug, I have gotten, and seen other people get some very nice fish on salted clams. Using different bait that has not been drug in front of the fish a hundred times can be the ticket to getting them to bite.  "Think outside the box” and  as Captan John would say “only believe half of what you see and none of what you hear/read”..  :)
